If you are already working in a school and thinking of applying then you should discuss with your head teacher whether the school might be willing to support your application by acting as a host school.
The UCAS code for Essex Teacher Training is E75. If you enter this into the UCAS search tool it will bring up a list of all of the courses we offer for both SCITT and School Direct.
Applicants interested in applying for a SCITT place should ideally have a host school that will be able to support them through their training. We will consider working with schools across Essex and the surrounding areas that have a good or better Ofsted grade. It isn’t a necessity to find your own host school as we have an increasing number of partner schools who are willing to host strong applicants. You will need to apply via the UCAS Website selecting Essex Teacher Training as the provider (UCAS code E75)
Applicants interested in Schools Direct places need to apply directly to the schools via the UCAS Website selecting the lead school as the provider. School Direct places may be either unsalaried (the training programme is very similar to the SCITT programme but recruitment is led by the school) or salaried (reduced training programme and often a greater teaching commitment earlier in the programme). Applicants can search for available places by searching for Essex Teacher Training, lead school name, subject or location.
