Essex Teacher Training is a large provider of Initial Teacher Training in the Eastern Region. We offer high quality school-based training routes in Primary, Secondary and Special schools.

Your route to teaching could be nearer than you think.

We offer training places in schools in Essex, Herts, Suffolk and North London

SCITT

We offer this 10 month full time route to teaching in partnership with a large number of schools across Essex and its surrounding borders. The programme leads to QTS with PGCE and you need to apply to Essex Teacher Training on UCAS.com

Assessment Only

If you are currently working as an unqualified teacher in a school then this route to QTS could be for you. If you meet the entry criteria you will enter into an assessment period without the need for further training.

School Direct

This programme is run in partnership with groups of schools across Essex and its surrounding borders. This 10 month programme is available as a salaried and a non-salaried route. The PGCE is included in the tuition fees but an optional extra for salaried trainees. The salaried programme is offered as both F/T and P/T. You apply direct to our Lead Schools on UCAS.com.

Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeship

This programme is run in partnership with groups of schools across Essex. Similar to School Direct Salaried it is a 12 month FT programme, where once you’ve met QTS you are required to pass an End Point Assessment to complete the apprenticeship.
